We applaud House Republicans for releasing a budget proposal that prioritizes K-12 public education, makes significant investments in Connecticut’s students and communities, and provides additional funding for special education.
The proposal outlined today, like the Appropriations Committee’s budget released last month, is another step closer to fully and equitably funding all public school students and ensuring all children have access to a high-quality education that helps them reach their full potential.
As budget negotiations continue, we urge legislative leadership and members from both parties to continue to prioritize K-12 education and to fully fund H.B. 5003 so all students — no matter where they live or the type of public school they attend — have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed inside and outside the classroom.
