Tell Your Legislators to Increase the ECS Foundation

It's been over a decade since Connecticut raised the base amount for state education funding.

Since 2013, the "foundation," or base, amount of Connecticut's primary method of distributing state education dollars — the Education Cost Sharing (ECS) formula — has been stuck at $11,525.

The result of a stagnant foundation? Local taxpayers must pick up the tab for rising costs or districts must cut the teachers, services, and programs students rely on. Students, families, and taxpayers cannot continue to pay this price.

Tell your legislators to support students, help taxpayers, and make Connecticut more affordable by raising the ECS formula's foundation and tying it to inflation.
